Dear Mike,
I’m more than delighted to receive your letter and really appreciate your concern about my family’s health at this very moment. I’m writing to tell you about what we’ve done and how I feel.
Over the past three months, the novel coronavirus has spread around China. As a consequence, we’re required to stay indoors and avoid contact with others. Every time we have to go out, we must wear protective masks. When coming back from outside, we should wash hands thoroughly and air the room. In addition, as senior three students, we’re instructed to take online courses conducted by our teachers who also selflessly answer our questions after class, improving our study.
For us Chinese the ongoing outbreak of the novel coronavirus is both a crisis and a big test. Luckily, with arduous work and courageous devotion of the government and thousands of doctors and nurses, the outbreak is under control and the number of infected people is steadily declining. With joint efforts, we will surely defeat it.
