According to the Chinese tradition, I say “thank you” that day, and I didn’t tear up the package in your presence. I forgot Americans are used to open the package of a gift for the moment it’s received. It wasn’t until my mother mentioned it when I realized my inappropriate behavior. So, please forgive me for your thoughtlessness. This incident serves as reminder that I must learn more about cultural difference.
