Stepping into the 21st century, we are experiencing the rapid development of economy and technology. However, beneficial as it may seem, it also has cast a spotlight on the environmental problem, which is going from bad to worse. The polluted air, water and food are threatening people’s health, putting all the human beings on the edge of death.
Therefore, it’s really high time that we took timely actions to protect our common homeland. Hereby, the Students’ Union appeals to all the students to spare no efforts to protect the environment, starting with some small things, not only for ourselves, but also for our offspring and others around us. Despite the fact that the current situation leaves much to be desired, we aren’t supposed to find excuses to show disregards for the environment and should remember: One more effort can make a difference!
What’s more, with the view to responding to this campaign, our school has decided to organize the students to publicize the concept of environmental protection around the city next Saturday. The Students’ Union is recruiting participants these days. Whoever shows any interest can come and join us!
